A former model, Stacey Williams, has come forward with a serious allegation against former President Donald Trump. Williams claims that in early 1993, at Trump Tower, Trump groped her while disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein watched. This account emerged during a video chat with sexual violence survivors supporting the Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign. It's important to note that this was an independent gathering of survivors and advocacy groups, not officially affiliated with the Harris campaign. The Harris campaign itself declined to comment on the allegations.
Williams's statement adds to the existing array of accusations against Trump, accusations spanning decades. These include the high-profile case of E. Jean Carroll, where a jury found Trump liable for sexual assault and defamation in 2023, relating to an incident in 1996. Furthermore, the infamous "Access Hollywood" tape from 2005, released shortly before the 2016 presidential election, features Trump boasting about unwanted sexual advances towards women.
Williams detailed her alleged encounter, explaining that she had been dating Epstein since 1992. Epstein's death by suicide in 2019, while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, remains a subject of intense public discussion and conspiracy theories.
According to Williams, she and Epstein were walking down Fifth Avenue in New York City during the late winter or early spring of 1993 when Epstein suggested a visit to Trump Tower. Upon arriving, they encountered Trump, and Williams recounts a disturbing incident:
"So we went into Trump Tower and went up the elevator. And moments later, Trump was greeting us and he pulled me into him and started groping me," Williams stated. "He put his hands all over my breasts, my waist, my butt. And I froze. And I froze because I was so deeply confused about what was happening because the hands were moving all over me."
Williams described Trump and Epstein as appearing to be engaged in conversation, seemingly unconcerned by the alleged assault. At the time of the alleged incident, Trump was in his mid-40s, and Williams was in her mid-20s.
Upon leaving Trump Tower, Williams recounts a shocking reaction from Epstein. Instead of expressing concern or outrage, Epstein allegedly became furious with Williams, blaming her for the incident:
“He kept saying, ‘Why did you let him do that? Why did you let him put his hands all over you?’ And he made me feel so disgusting,” Williams recalled, adding that she felt humiliated and deeply disturbed by the experience.
Williams further speculated on a possible underlying dynamic between Trump and Epstein, suggesting a disturbing "sick bet or game" in which she felt she had been used as a pawn: "As I absorbed what happened, however, I felt like there was some sort of sick bet or game between Trump and Epstein and that I was rolled in there like a piece of meat for some kind of challenge or twisted game."
Adding further weight to her claim, Williams revealed that shortly after the Trump Tower incident, she received a postcard from Trump himself. The postcard, sent via courier to her agent, featured a photograph of Mar-a-Lago, Trump's Florida resort, on one side. The other side contained a message allegedly written by Trump: "Stacey, your home away from home. Love, Donald." Williams's team has shared images of the postcard with the Associated Press.
A spokesperson for Trump, Karoline Leavitt, vehemently denied Williams's allegations, labeling them as "unequivocally false" and suggesting a politically motivated agenda behind the claim.
In subsequent interviews with CNN, Williams described the encounter with Trump as "one of the strangest moments of my life," adding that she experienced it as an "out-of-body experience." She explained her delayed disclosure, citing family considerations and the complexities of processing such a traumatic event.
"You want to be really, really ready, and I wasn’t,” Williams told CNN. “I think there’s an evolution to contending with your abuse, or these types of incidents, and it doesn’t happen overnight.”
Trump's past relationship with Epstein has been a subject of scrutiny. In a 2002 interview with New York Magazine, Trump described Epstein as a "terrific guy" and commented on Epstein's apparent fondness for women, stating: "He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”
Trump has consistently denied numerous allegations of sexual misconduct and assault throughout his career. The "Access Hollywood" tape, while causing significant controversy during the 2016 election campaign, did not ultimately prevent his election victory, nor has it significantly impeded his political trajectory.
The details provided by Williams, including the alleged groping incident at Trump Tower, the subsequent postcard, and Epstein's alleged reaction, paint a complex and disturbing picture. The allegations raise significant questions, and it's crucial to consider the totality of the circumstances surrounding this case, including the other numerous accusations against Trump and his past relationship with Epstein, as well as the timeline of events. The veracity of Williams's claims will ultimately be determined through further investigation and potential legal proceedings, if any are pursued. Her account, however, undeniably adds another layer to the ongoing discussion surrounding allegations of sexual misconduct against prominent figures. The timing of the disclosure, in conjunction with the upcoming election, also raises questions about potential political motivations, both for the accuser and those seeking to discredit her claims. The situation underscores the ongoing national conversation surrounding sexual assault, the challenges faced by survivors in coming forward, and the complexities of evaluating such serious allegations in a highly charged political environment. The potential ramifications of this accusation remain to be seen.
